2 cups flour (any type)
1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp sea salt 1/4 cup oil 3/4 cup maple syrup 1/3 cup milk sub 1/4 cup water 3 tab orange juice 2 tsp apple cider vinegar 2 tsp vanilla Sift dry. Mix wet in a bowl and add to dry ingredients. Mix. Pour batter ibto 2 8 inch round cakepans oiled and floured /bottoms lined with parchment. Bake preheated 350 -25- 30 min. Let cool and then invert onto wire racks. Custard part- 2 1/2 cups milk sub such as mix of almond and coconut milk 1 1/2 tab agar flakes 3 tab maple syrup 3tab maple sugar (or another type dry sugar) pinch sea salt 1 1/2 tab kuzu diluted or 3 tab arrowroot dissolved in 2 1/2 tab milk sub 1 tab vanilla pinch tumeric (for color) Simmer agar flakes with milk till dissolved low flame. Add sugars. Add dissolved arrowroot and stir until thickened. Add sea salt, tumeric and vanilla. Pour into a bowl and chill |
