    Default T Bones

Once again we had snow today down in Georgia

So what better than to grill some T Bones for dinner. First we get a nice hot fire going and season the steaks with my steak rub

After searing the steaks I move them up to the top rack to finish cooking

Wonderful beef goodness, damn I love cows

And all plated up with a baked potato and some corn

    It was good

Looks great and I know it taste great. That was our Christmas dinner menu. Minus the corn though. I cheated and used a gas grill with start to finish on the bottom rack.

Digital cameras are great. Plug them into the computer, They load themselves. Follow the prompts, then your picture wizzard takes over each time you want to download pictures. There Mama, you've been geekafied.

When I was a kid in the Army, I was sent for a tour of duty in Germany. After a 9 hour flight into Frankfurt from McGuire AFB in a cargo plane, then a bus ride that had to stop at every base before arriving at mine. It was close to 11:00 at night. Arriving at the base we had to go through processing. Finally about 12:30am, we were told that they had opened the chow hall for us, we hadn't eaten all day.
It seems that some type of special event had taken place that day(the day before) and for some reason T Bone steaks and Lobster had been served. I was asked what I had wanted and of course I requested the steak.

In the service of course on a chow line you had a tray onto which we set are plates and utensils onto. The steaks were on the grill. As I approached the cook turned around and placed my steak onto my plate. I was astonished to say the least I had never and have never since seen a Tbone the size of the one I was served that night. It was about the size of the tray... I don't know if it was because of being extremely hungry or what but that was the absolute best steak I ever had in my life.
Of course I thought that I was going to love being stationed there, The food was fantastic. That night, lol. I never ever saw another meal like that one the four years I spent there. 2 of those years I spent cooking in that kitchen and never ever saw those types of provisions ever present themselves again.
