Recipe: Glogg (Yuletide drink of Sweeden)
- 1 bottle brandy
- 2 bottles claret
- 2 bottles port wine
- 25 whole cloves
- 20 cardamon seeds
- 1 pound blanched almonds
- 2 ounce cinnamon sticks
- 1 pound lump sugar
- 2 ounce dried orange peel
- Put orange peel, cardamon seeds, cinnamon sticks and cloves in cheesecloth bag and boil slowly in wine for 15 minutes.
- Add almonds and boil another 15 minutes.
- Remove kettle from stove; place wire grill over it with sugar on top and pour brandy over.
- Hold a lighted match near sugar; brandy will flame up.
- When sugar is melted, extinguish flame by covering kettle.
Serve hot. |
