Golden Dipt Cajun Seafood Fry Mix 10oz, Case of 12
Enjoy Louisiana Style Battered Cajun Seafood with this batter mix from Golden Dipt. In each package you'll find all of the ingredients to simply mix with water and dip your favorite seafood into and then fry to make classic New Orleans style breaded seafood.
To make:
- Pour fry mix into a shallow dish or a large plastic bag.
- Cut fiish into serving-size pieces, moisten fish with milk or water. Shake off excess moisture.
- Coat fish, several pieces at a time, with prepare fry mix by shaking in bag or turning in shallow pan.
- Discard any remaining cajun fry mix.
- Fry as described below.
Deep Fry: Pour canola or vegetable oil into a deep-fryer, heavy skillet, or saucepan, filling no more than 1/3 full. Heat to 375 F on medium heat. Carefully add fish, several pieces at a time, to prevent splashing of hot oil. Fry for 3 to 5 minutes, turning once to brown evenly, until fish is golden brown around edges and flakes easily with a fork. Drain on paper towels.
Oven Fry: Cover bottom of a shallow baking pan with melted butter. Arrange fish in a single layer in pan. Turn to coat with butter. Bake in a preheated 425 F oven for 10 to 20 minutes or until fish is golden brown around edges and flakes easily with a fork.
Golden Dipt Cajun Seafood Fry Mix works best with catfish, tilapia, flounder, trout or shrimp.
The entire package will coat 6 pounds of fish or 4 lbs of seafood (such as shrimp/prawns).
Serve with Cocktail Sauce or Tartar Sauce.
Recipe: Cajun Pecan Catfish
- 1/2 cup Golden Dipt Cajun Fry Mix
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- water or milk
- 1 pound catfish
- vegetable oil
Stir 'Fry Mix' and pecans until mixed. Moisten fish with water OR milk. Coat and either fry in oil or oven fry as directed above.
Cajun Fried Shrimp Recipe
Moisten 1 pound of peeled and deveined gulf shrimp with water or milk. Coat shrimp with 1/2 cup of Golden Dipt Cajun Fry Mix. Deep-fry for 3 to 5 minutes.
Ingredients: Yellow Corn Flour, Enriched Wheat Flour (Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Bread Crumbs(Enriched Bleached Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Whey [Milk], Dextrose, Soybean Oil), Salt, Spices (including Red Pepper, Black Pepper and Celery Seed), Yellow Corn Meal, Paprika, Garlic and Onion.
