Recipe: Homemade Pizza Crust
Pizza Crust Ingredients
- 3 tbsp dry yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 5 1/4 cups unbleached flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- Extra flour and cornmeal
To make Pizza Crust
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1/2 cup water, let stand 10 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients. Knead 10 minutes in cornmeal and flour on board. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until double, then punch down.
- Pat out into 3 pizza pans. For thicker pizza crust, allow dough to rise.
- Add desired sauce and toppings.
- Bake pizza at 500° F. for 15 minutes.
