Recipe: Lemon Tea Bread
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh grated lemon peel
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Grease a 8 1/4 x 4 1/2" bread pan.
- In large mixer bowl combine milk, eggs, sugar, butter, and lemon peel. Beat until well blended.
- Add dry ingredients. Blend until mixture is smooth.
- Gently fold in pecans.
- Pour batter into loaf pan.
- Bake Lemon Tea Bread at 350° F. for 45 to 50 minutes.
- While Lemon Tea Bread is baking, prepare the glaze.
- Place bread in pan on a wire rack to cool.
- While the Lemon Tea Bread is still hot, slowly brush on glaze.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Remove from bread from pan and cool on rack.
