Recipe: Lower Calorie Crab Imperial
Traditionally, Crab Imperial is baked in the top half of the crab shell. But if you are not picking your own crabs, and are buy crab meat in a tub, you can bake Crab Imperial in custard tins.
Ingredients in Lower Calorie Crab Imperial
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup plain lowfat yogurt
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup low calorie mayonnaise
- 6 to 7 drops Tabasco
- 1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
- 1 pound crabmeat
- 1/2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
- Paprika
- Lemon juice
- Lemon wedges
To make Lower Calorie Crab Imperial
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Beat egg, then mix together with the yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, mayonnaise, Tabasco sauce, and Old Bay Seasoning.
- Carefully mix in the crabmeat, trying to keep any large lumps together.
- Spoon the crabmeat mixture into crab shell halves or custard cups.
- Spinkle each cup with some Parmesan cheese, and a little Paprika.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Dribble a little lemon juice on each cooked Crab Imperial. Serve with a lemon wedge.
