In 1946 Mauna Loa planted their first macadamia nut trees on the Big Island of Hawaii. Today, they nurture and harvest over 1 million macadamia trees. Mauna Loa is named after the world's largest volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is there that the rich volcanic soil and perfect climate create the most ideal place to produce one of the most highly prized nuts in the world - the macadamia nut.
