Recipe: Orange Muffins

Recipes using Argo Baking Powder

• 6 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 tbsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 2 cups vegetable shortening
• 8 tbsp butter
• 1 cup fresh orange juice
• 1/2 cup diced orange segments
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup sliced almonds
• 6 eggs

1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, mixing with your hands.
2. Add shortening, butter, orange juice, milk and eggs and thoroughly mix.
3. The mixture should have a consistency thicker than pudding.
4. Pour Orange Muffin batter into muffin cups, filling only halfway.
5. Add orange segments and then fill the cups with the rest of the Orange Muffin batter.
6. Sprinkle tops of muffins with almonds.
7. Bake Orange Muffins in preheated oven at 350° F. for 30 minutes.
