Recipe: Oyster Stew

Recipes using McCormick Black Pepper, Ground

• 2 tbsps flour
• 1 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/8 tsp pepper
• 2 tbsps water
• 1 pt oysters with liquid
• 1 qt milk, scalded
• 1 tsp butter or margarine

1. Combine flour, salt, pepper and water.
2. Blend to a smooth paste.
3. Stir in oysters and liquid.
4. Simmer oysters over low heat until their edges curl.
5. Pour mixture into milk.
6. Remove pan from heat, cover and let stand 15 mins. to improve flavor.
7. Add butter and reheat.
