Recipe: Pumpkin Bread
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 2/3 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 pound can pumpkin
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 2/3 cups flour, unsifted
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 2/3 cup chopped nuts
- 2/3 cup raisins
- 3 to 4 tbsp dark molasses
- Cream together butter, sugar, and eggs.
- Add pumpkin and water. Combine flour, soda, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves.
- Add to pumpkin mixture. Mix well. Add nuts, raisins and molasses. Mix well. Pour into greased loaf pans.
- Bake at 350° F. about an hour.
