Recipe: Quiche
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup dried sliced mushrooms
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup cubed cooked ham
- 2 9 inch frozen pie shells
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Pan fry bacon until crisp, drain bacon and break in half.
- Drain all but 3 tbsps drippings from pan.
- Saute onions and mushrooms in drippings until tender but not brown.
- Combine eggs, milk, flour, salt and nutmeg in bowl and beat slightly.
- Alternate layers of bacon, mushrooms, onion mixture, cheese and ham in pie shells.
- Pour egg mixture over layers.
- Sprinkle with a little more nutmeg.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Excellent reheated. |
