Recipe: Refrigerator Rolls
1 cup Crisco shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 cup boiling water
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp dry yeast
1 cup warm water
6 cups unsifted bread flour
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Grease muffin pans
- Pour boiling water over shortening in large mixing bowl.
- Add sugar and salt and let cool slightly.
- Add eggs to mixture.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle yeast into warm water and stir until dissolved; add to mixture.
- Add flour and blend well.
- Lightly grease top of dough with shortening and cover.
- Place in refrigerator at least 4 hours.
- Make into rolls; place in greased muffin pans and put into oven on warm to rise to desired height.
- Brush with butter and bake for approximately 8 - 10 mins.
- Remove from oven and brush top with butter to stay soft.
Servings: 2 1/2 - 3 dozen rolls |
