Recipe: Sausage Bread
- 1 loaf frozen bread dough
- 1 1/2 to 2 pounds hot sausage
- 1 to 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp garlic salt
- Thaw bread dough. Let rise until double in bulk. Roll out on floured board to about 12x18".
- Sprinkle on garlic salt.
- Sprinkle on half of cheese.
- Cook sausage in skillet until well done. Drain off grease.
- Crumble sausage and cool. Spread over dough to within 1/2" of edge; sprinkle on remaining cheese.
- Roll up like a jellyroll and pinch edges to seal.
- Brush with egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water.
- Bake at 350° F. about 30 minutes or golden brown.
Serve hot.
