Recipe: Sausage Spaghetti Casserole
- 1 lb hot pork sausage meat
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped pepper
- 6 oz can tomato paste
- 6 oz can tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsps sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsps Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz box spaghetti
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put sausage, onion, celery and pepper in heavy skillet.
- Stir over medium heat until browned and crumbly.
- Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, sugar and water; mix well.
- Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.
- Cook spaghetti and drain.
- Alternate layers of spaghetti and sauce in greased baking dish, 1 1/2 quarts.
- Sprinkle with cheese and bake about 20 minutes.
