Recipe: Smoky Beef Brisket



 

Recipes using McCormick Gourmet Garlic Salt

 

This is a long, slow cooking recipe, so start early. Don't rush the cooking, the time is required for a tender brisket.
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 3 pound beef brisket
  1. Combine the garlic salt, onion salt and celery salt, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke in a small bowl.
  2. Trim the brisket of excess fat, but leave a small amount of the exterior fat.
  3. Rub the brisket with the Worcestershire sauce mixture.
  4. Place the brisket into a foil lined 9x13" or similar size baking pan.
  5. Pour any remaining sauce over it. Cover with aluminum foil and seal foil tightly around meat.
  6. Bake at 250° for at least 5 hours in order for the brisket to be tender.
  7. Unwrap and let stand 15 minutes before slicing.
  8. Pour juices into dish and serve on the side.

Serves 8 to 10.
