Recipe: Sour Cream Coffee Cake
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Topping
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsps ground cinnamon
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 9 inch pan.
- Cream butter; add sugar and eggs 1 at a time, beating well.
- Mix flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream; stir in vanilla.
- Pour ½ of the batter into a greased 9 inch pan.
- Mix together topping ingredients.
- Add a layer of topping to batter in pan. (Reserve some topping for top of cake)
- Pour remaining batter on topping.
- Top batter with remaining topping mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
