Recipe: Spinach Squares

Recipes using Baking Powder

Ingredients in Spinach Squares

• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 cups milk
• 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 4 eggs, well beaten
• 2 packages spinach, thawed and drained
• 2 cups grated Sharp Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

To Make Spinach Squares

1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
3. Add milk, butter, onion, eggs, spinach and cheese; mix well.
4. Spread mixture in a greased 9x13 inch backing dish.
5. Bake at 350°, uncovered, for 35-45 minutes or until the edges are done and they are golden brown.
6. Cut into squares.
7. These can also be baked in mini muffin pans.
