Recipe: Steamed Mullet or Kumu
Steamed Mullet or Kumu
- 1 mullet or kumu, scaled and cleaned
- Lay whole fish flat in pan, fill enough water to cover fish and bring to a boil.
- Turn off heat and cover. When water has cooled, fish is done.
- Place fish in platter for serving.
Garnish for fish:
- 1 piece ginger, slivered
- 1/8 tsp granulated garlic
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped fine
- Mix thoroughly. Sprinkle over fish.
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- Heat skillet. Add oil and soy sauce, heat until mixture smokes.
- Pour sauce over fish and garnish.
