Recipe: Steamed Collard Greens

Recipes using McCormick Red Pepper, Crushed

• 1 large bunch of collard greens (64 ounces [4 pounds] cut and washed)
• 3 cup fat-free low-sodium chicken broth or homemade chicken stock without meat
• 2 medium onions, chopped
• 1 1/2 tsp fresh chopped garlic
• 1 tsp red pepper flakes
• 1 tsp black pepper

1. Wash and cut greens.
2. Mix greens in large stock pot together with the remaining ingredients.
3. Cook until tender. Remove from heat.
4. Allow flavors to blend by preparing the dish early in the day and storing in refrigerator. The longer it blends the better it tastes.
5. Reheat or serve cold.
