Recipe: Stuffed Meat Loaf
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- 2 slices bacon (cut up, fried)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
Stuffing Mix
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine (softened)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup celery (chopped)
- 2 cups soft bread crumbs
- 1/4 tsp sage
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp thyme
- dash of pepper
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix meatloaf ingredients together well.
- Spread 2/3 of meatloaf mixture in ungreased loaf pan, pressing up sides of pan to within ¾ inch of top of pan.
- Mix stuffing ingredients together well.
- Place on top of meatloaf mixture in loaf pan.
- Place remaining 1/3 of meatloaf mixture to cover the stuffing mixture completely.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- Drain grease and let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into thick slices.
