Recipe: Stuffed Meat Loaf



 

Recipes using McCormick Organic Thyme

 

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 2 slices bacon (cut up, fried)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
    • Stuffing Mix

      • 1/4 cup butter or margarine (softened)
      • 1 small onion (chopped)
      • 1/2 cup celery (chopped)
      • 2 cups soft bread crumbs
      • 1/4 tsp sage
      • 1/4 tsp salt
      • 1/8 tsp thyme
      • dash of pepper
        1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
        2. Mix meatloaf ingredients together well.
        3. Spread 2/3 of meatloaf mixture in ungreased loaf pan, pressing up sides of pan to within ¾ inch of top of pan.
        4. Mix stuffing ingredients together well.
        5. Place on top of meatloaf mixture in loaf pan.
        6. Place remaining 1/3 of meatloaf mixture to cover the stuffing mixture completely.
        7. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
        8. Drain grease and let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into thick slices.
