Recipe: Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Recipes using Tones Garlic Powder

• 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
• 1 onion, grated
• 1 egg
• sea salt to taste
• 1/2 cup bread crumbs
• 1/4 tsp garlic powder
• Pinch of ginger
• 1/2 cup water

• 1 onion, chopped
• 1/2 cup granulated brown sugar
• 1/2 cup chili sauce
• 3 tbsp catsup
• 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet
• 1 tsp low sodium soy sauce
• 1 tsp vinegar

Prepare the sauce by combing the ingredients in a heavy pot over medium heat. While bringing the sauce to a boil, mix the meatballs, and shape into 3/4 inch balls. Add meatballs to the boiling sauce, then lower heat to a simmer, cover and cook 1 to 2 hours in a heavy pot. Check every so often and add a little water if the sauce begins to dry out.
