Recipe: Swiss Fondue
Swiss Fondue Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Emmentaler cheese
- 2 cups light, dry white wine
- 1 tsp cornstarch disolved in 1 tbsp water
- 14/ tsp garlic powder
- 1 shot blass brandy
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground paprika
- French, or Italian bread, cut into 1" cubes
To make Swiss Fondue
- Warm an earthware pot in an oven at lowest temperature.
- Place cheeses, cornstarch, and wine into a medium non-stick sauce pan.
- Cook over high heat, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.
- Reduce heat, add spices, and brandy. Cook, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are blended.
- Pour cheese fondue into the warmed, earthenware pot, and serve with the cubed bread.
