Recipe: Texas Hash
Texas Hash
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 can tomatoes, No. 2 (or 3 small cans tomatoes and 1 small can tomato sauce)
- 15 oz can kidney beans
- 3/4 cup uncooked rice
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/4 cup chopped olives
- 3/4 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- Brown meat, onion and garlic with seasonings.
- Add tomatoes, beans and rice.
- Bake in a covered casserole for 45 minutes at 350° F.
- Sprinkle with olives and cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 15 minutes longer.
