Recipe: Toffee Bar Cake
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup butter or margarine
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 6 chocolate covered toffee bars
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
- Mix brown sugar and flour; add salt and baking soda.
- Cut in butter as for pie crust.
- Reserve 1 cup of mixture.
- Add egg, milk and vanilla to the remaining mixture.
- Beat until blended.
- Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumbs, nuts, and toffee.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- Cool and cut into bars.
