Recipe: Toyko Style Yakitori
Toyko Style Yakitori
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 carrot, pared
- 1 green pepper, cubed
- 6 dried mushrooms
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Accent
- 1 teaspoon sweet rice wine
- Cut chicken 1-inch pieces.
- Cut carrot into 1/4-inch slices.
- Cook carrot and pepper 1 minute in small amount of boiling water.
- Remove vegetables from liquid and cook mushrooms 3 minutes.
- Remove stems from mushrooms, cut caps into quarters.
- Combine remaining ingredients.
- Put green pepper, chicken, mushroom, and carrot on bamboo skewers; marinate 15 minutes in soy sauce mixture.
- Place on rack of broiler pan, broil 3 inches from unit in oven 5 minutes; turn, baste, and broil remaining side 3 more minutes.
- Makes 18 skewers of Yakitori or 4 to 5 servings.
