Recipe: Toyko Style Yakitori

Recipes using McCormick Ground Ginger

• 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
• 1 carrot, pared
• 1 green pepper, cubed
• 6 dried mushrooms
• 1/3 cup soy sauce
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 tsp minced garlic
• 1/2 tsp ground ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon Accent
• 1 teaspoon sweet rice wine

1. Cut chicken 1-inch pieces.
2. Cut carrot into 1/4-inch slices.
3. Cook carrot and pepper 1 minute in small amount of boiling water.
4. Remove vegetables from liquid and cook mushrooms 3 minutes.
5. Remove stems from mushrooms, cut caps into quarters.
6. Combine remaining ingredients.
7. Put green pepper, chicken, mushroom, and carrot on bamboo skewers; marinate 15 minutes in soy sauce mixture.
8. Place on rack of broiler pan, broil 3 inches from unit in oven 5 minutes; turn, baste, and broil remaining side 3 more minutes.
9. Makes 18 skewers of Yakitori or 4 to 5 servings.
