Freezing Spices

I was wondering......
Is it ok to freeze spices?

I cannot find small containers of some spices so I buy what's available.
Sometimes I won't use a certain spice for quite a while then when I do need it, there is no flavor or you can definetly tell that it's "old".

So... is it possible to freeze them and use what you need and will they stay fresher, longer?

If you buy whole spices they will freeze better.

I freeze whole spices and herbs all the time. Around fall I freeze up most of my herbs so I can have semi fresh throughout the winter.
