Just signed up today. I'm 30 and lived by myself (not married or gf) for most of my life, so about 5 years ago I just decided to quit with the hamburger helper and start doing my own stuff. I'm still really inexperienced, but love to cook from scratch whether it turns out or not..hopefully it turns out! hehe

My favorites are homemade soups, but I'm into almost everything but desserts. I figured once I crossed that line there's no coming back :)

Anyway I stumbled here trying to find out a question about my homemade fries, so if you're a good spud chef, check out my post in the "How do I..." forum.

Cheers!

Hey back at ya' AG!

I love that you have stumbled across our forum, I love being a member here and hope you will too! You will learn alot. I already gave my input for the spud ? you had on the other thread but wanted to welcome you again in the proper thread.

Great Having YOU! Cathy

Hi AG!

I think you'll find we're a fine bunch of folks- from all regions and from diverse backgrounds. We also enjoy meeting new people and making new friends- so... we're glad you're here!

Good for you for starting to cook for yourself. Life is too short to eat bad food. Cooking is such a fun and satisfying hobby. Personally I love that I’m creating something with my hands. I look forward to more of your input on the forum.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I've been using my grandma as my sole resource so far, who has been a saint, but she's very old fashioned so some things are getting beyond her. I know I'll be here a lot though...I always have a lot of questions!

Welcome from someone else who also cooks for one, but I still love the occasional Hamburger Helper but I cheat a little. My ground beef is precooked and frozen so when I am in the mood for a casserole I only need to thaw the meat a little and not go through the whole mess. Leftovers are sealed in FoodSaver Bags in portion sizes and frozen for a future meal.
