This was the 1st cake I ever made from scratch when I was just 18 yrs old. it turned out so delicious, actually come to think of it mine was an Applesauce Spice Cake with a Cream Cheese Icing, it turned out soooooo wonderful, I was a young newlywed, and it was his birthday in June!

I love Spice Cake, janie. In fact, I just make them from the store-bought box mixes- and enjoy them w/ fluffy white- or cream cheese frosting.

I used to have a ginger-snap cookie recipe that used a spice cake mix- YUM!

Jon loved the cake. I thought it needed more spice. I topped it with a powdered sugar glaze.
I used cake flour and 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup veg oil.
