Powdered Peanut Butter

I just checked that out -just add water and stir. I see they use it in protein drinks/shakes as well as other recipes. I wonder what the shelf like is for this? As with everything else - once opened, I don't think it would last long. You can't pre-mix it - and I just looked at one cookie recipe which call for 1 cup of it.

One jar of PB2 and about 1 1/3 cups water will give you about 1 3/4 cups PB2. If PB2 is mixed to a stiffer consistency, the yield is about 1 1/2 cups.............I don't know if I would try it to be honest with you - $3.99/jar doesn't seem to be worth it to me.

Easier opening a jar and removing what I need from a jar of Jif.

That's kind of my own thinking. Shelf life would be the main interest for me, as a powder without the fat/oil it should be pretty good.

Honestly - I don't think would even wat to try it - there is something about it tat doesn't sound right to me. But it could be me......

Sounds like something the Army fed me. I'll bet it is every bit as good as "canned scrambled eggs".

Thank you. That convinced me to get some to try. I use powdered eggs on a regular basis and love the convenience. I also love powdered butter, powdered cheeses, powdered horseradish, powdered milk, and powdered sour cream.

The convienience of a dried or powdered product is most excellent, especially for single people who do not use up alot of a product quickly. There is less waste. My grandmother was like you CanMan she loved powdered milk, and many other powdered products! I love keeping powdered milk on hand for baking and in a pinch when I run out of milk and can not get to the store! Keep me posted on how that powdered PB turns out:)

I even ordered some of their Peanut Oil and learned a curious fact -- a Peanut oil massage is extremely beneficial for people suffering from Arthritis (like me). All I need now is someone to do the massaging. I was thinking about driving around town asking any young lady if they wanted to do that (for a fee of course) but then thought better of it for some reason. :D

When I get the powder I want to try a couple ideas they referenced on their website:
"When added to almost any tomato based dish – salsa, BBQ sauce, Mexican dips, spaghetti sauce – PB2 mellows out the acidic flavor of the tomatoes.

* Any fruit dipped in PB2 or CPB2 powder is delicious! Tip: Spoon PB2 or CPB2 into a zipper bag. Cut a banana into bite size pieces and place in bag. Zip bag closed and shake to coat the fruit – enjoy. This is an easy, kid friendly, healthy snack. Good with apples and pineapple too.

* For a really low-cal sandwich, mix PB2 with grape juice. Spread onto 1 or 2 slices low-cal, low fat bread - a really delicious, calorie conservative, filling snack!

And I'm thinking of using with Apple Juice.

I was told years ago that rubbin peanut oil on arthritic joints eases the pain -another "cure-all" is pure 100% olive oil - I've been reading a lot on that and the cures attributed to it - cures you would never even think of
