Rotini Beef Chili For Dinner T'night

Hi Folks -- it's easy, it's tasty, and if you cook the pasta and the ground beef prior, you have something you can just "throw" together in no time at all. :) Anyway, I'm serving this with salad and rolls. I'm hungry already and it's 3 + hours until dinner.

Preparation: 10 minutes Cook: 50 minutes

1 lb lean ground beef
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 onions, chopped
1 cup tomato spaghetti sauce
1 can (28 oz)tomatoes
1 cup water
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp salt
1 can (19 oz)kidney beans, drained
1/4 of a 500 g pkg Rotini pasta
Shredded cheddar cheese
Tortilla or corn chips,lightly crushed

In a large saucepan, brown beef with garlic and onions. Stir in tomatoes, breaking apart with fork. Add spaghetti sauce, water, chili powder and salt. Simmer, covered, 35 minutes. Add beans; cook 10 minutes longer. Cook rotini according to package directions. Stir rotini into chili mixture; heat through. Serve topped with cheddar cheese and tortilla chips.

Makes 8 servings.
