These make fantastic cinnamon rolls. I got 12 big rolls total today when I made them. I baked mine in a 9x13 non stick pan and topped them with a glaze after they came out of the oven. I baked mine at 350 in our oven til they were lightly brown on top.

Hot Dog/Hamburger Buns/Rolls/Cinnamon Buns Dough Cycle A.b.m.

This the only recipe I use for everything now. If you live outside Canada your flour may not have the high protein/gluten that our Canadian milled flours have. You may wish to use bread flour. Makes delicious cinnamon buns also.

1 1/4 cups skim milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil or canola oil
1/4-1/3 cup sugar (I use a 1/4 cup measure)
1 teaspoon salt
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (I have never found the need to use bread flour these rise beautifully)
2 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Place all ingredients in order recommended by your bread machine manufacturer.

Select dough cycle and start machine.
I preheat my oven to 100°F and turn off.
When dough cycle is complete remove from machine and proceed.
I roll into a long log and cut into 12 pieces for hot dog buns or 9 pieces for large hamburger buns.
How big you want them is up to you.
For Hot Dog Buns, I roll out till they look like long skinny wieners,.
Hamburger Buns, I flatten with my palm till about the thickness of a pancake.
They rise beautifully and look as nicely shaped as store bought ones.
Put on parchment-lined baking sheet so sides are almost touching.
You can brush with melted butter if you wish but I never bother.
Cover with cloth and put in the warm oven for 45-60 minutes to rise.
When doubled remove from oven.
I bake mine on the top shelf in my oven.
Turn oven to 400°F and when you put the buns in the oven, reduce temperature immediately to 375° and bake hot dog buns 15 minutes and hamburger buns 17 minutes.

CINNAMON BUNS. Use 1/3 cup sugar in recipe. Made 10 large buns.
Roll out to about 12 x 15" and spread with butter or margarine.
Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over all and roll up tightly.
Cut into as many buns as you want.
I make 10.
Set oven to 400° and turn down to 375° when you put buns in Bake 20 minutes.

I still don't have a bread machine. Yeah, I know I keep saying I am gonna get one but haven't. The recipe looks pretty good, I love good bread. CF:)

Two different thoughts about these things CF I quess. My wife told me not to get one saying everyone she knows who had one put it in a garage sale within 6 months. My low sodium diet, however, keeps me from eating the bread from the store so I'm not selling mine. Plus if you've ever had yeast bread straight form the oven (or machine) there is nothing like it in the store. I'm a fan since I'm too lazy to do all that kneading and waiting for the rise.

I love my bread machine. I never let the bread bake in the machine but it is wonderful for working the dough for you. I make lots of french bread, rolls and the like using it. The machine I have is just a cheap one from Walmart. I bought it years ago for like $40 around Christmas.

Now that is another " WOW" photo. Got me drooling. I could put a hurt on those rolls. Nothing but nice. I am now much closer to getting a bread machine. CF

Thanks. My brother has a terrible cold and I was hoping something comforting and homemade would hit the spot. I doubt they were still warm when he got them home. It has been in the teens for several days here now. I tend towards comfort food and this weather makes you crave warm cozy meals.

Ok, went shopping this morning. I am now the owner of a bread machine.
Brand new from the GoodWill store for $10.00. I am sure its an old machine but has never been used. Here it is. CF:)

Hey CF. Looks like a decent machine to me. It has the dough cycle and keep warm plus others I could not read. From the looks of it you just have to keep your recipes to the 1 1/2 Lb loafs which is easy to do. I believe most 1 1/2 Lb loafs start with 3 cups flour. Good luck and let us know how that first loaf turns out.

JG, JP. I wasn't brave enough to make Cinnamon rolls yet. I really don't want to embarrass myself. But did make some basic white bread I like it. The bread taste good and the $10.00 machine worked. CF:)
