Hey Gang!
Well, my Papa turns 76 this weekend! The new avatar is him serving champagne at his surprise birthday party last year. He and I went cowboy-boot shopping and returned to my place when he'd thought his wife and my sister and her family were out of town. So imagine his shock when we entered my place and there was a crowd of people to help him celebrate his 75th!
Last year's menu theme was an Alaskan-Barbecue w/ crab-legs, teriyaki chicken thighs & salmon brochettes on the weber. The cake wasn't a cake at all- rather blackberry shortcakes...
This year will be a bit different... He's having elective surgery Thanksgiving week and won't be able to be home to have turkey- so we're doing Thanksgiving early this year! We're all gathering at my sister's for the traditional turkey spread and again- no cake this year! Of course it'll be PUMPKIN, PECAN and MINCEMEAT PIES!
