Welcome to spammer heaven -

today was a day for banning most of the "newbies"
I don't think rat poison would be effective enough - they are coming out like the roaches they are

Mama - I'm not familiar with the inner guts of this software - but some Fori I've visited require a moderator approve/release the first x posts of a new member.

I've seen numbers like 10 posts - bit on the extreme side methinks but something like 2 or 3 could stop (some / most) spam from ever hitting the board, no?

don't know what would happen in the case of the loudmouth spammer who posts 20 messages "in a heartbeat" ala'
"gosh sounds good and here's my website/spamsite . . "
type of thing.

This software can be set up that way - but this is the way the administrators have it right now.
Personally I would love to see that the first post needs to be approved before it is posted to the site.
Make 'em type a couple words for the first few posts - verify if they are spammers or not.

but for now - this finger got a work out today - the button is HOT - phew......

yeah, well - when you're hot, you're HOT.

there's also the "no links" for new members until [specify condition] which is counterproductive imho. the sooner they get to "post" the spam link the better. nothing worse than plodding through x posts of nonsense until the spammer finally 'reveals' the nature of their participation.

curiously, some software restricts posting a link in the newbie message, but ignores newbies including a link in the signature block.... what were they thinking . . .

I figure tonight should be fun with these scum bags - they are like vampires - they come out at night!

But of course - we don't read their crap anyway - I just delete it all. They are wasting their time.

They think we are stupid enough to look at their crap -

and the roaches are attacking!!!!!

all the time it takes them to sign up and all those buttons they push - and just like Raid Ant and Roach Killer - one push of the button and they are gone!

What kind of a loser would keep coming back for more?
