Original Chex Party Mix

INGREDIENTS:
3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup bite-size pretzels
1 cup garlic-flavor bite-size bagel chips or regular-size bagel chips, broken into 1-inch pieces
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

DIRECTIONS:
1.In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
2.Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
 
Every year my grandmother made this in a big metal washtub. Just the right size to fit in the oven. Hers had cherios instead of bagel chips. She called it nuts and bolts. We loved it!
 
I Love this Stuff!!! My Mom and Grandmother made it every year for Christmas it is sooooo good! Stores now sell it pre-made but I swear I believe the homemade was just soooo much more tasty!!!
 
And a variation of our favorite:

Cheesy Ranch Chex® Mix

9 cups Corn Chex® -- Rice Chex® or Wheat Chex® cereal (or combination)
2 cups bite-size pretzel twists
2 cups bite-size cheese crackers
3 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted
1 1 oz package ranch-style dressing mix
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1. In large microwavable bowl, mix cereal, pretzels and crackers. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated. Stir in dressing mix and cheese until evenly coated.
2. Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring each minute. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Store in airtight container.
 
When you are done with those two, then move on to:

Taco Snack Mix

4 cups assorted shredded wheat and Chex cereals
4 cups small pretzel sticks
4 cups tortilla chips
1 package taco seasoning mix
1/4 cup butter or margarine -- melted

Combine all ingredients except margarine in large bowl, tossing to coat well with seasoning. Drizzle with melted margarine and toss to coat well. Store in an airtight container.

Yield: 12 cups
 
And perhaps this one just in time for Christmas:

Crunchy Cherry Party Mix

4 cups bite-size corn or rice square cereal (such as Corn or Rice Chex)
2 cups bite-size wheat square cereal (such as Wheat Chex)
2 cups broken whole grain melba toast
2 cups small fat-free pretzel twists
3 tablespoons margarine or butter -- melted
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 1/2 cups dried tart cherries

Put corn or rice cereal, wheat cereal, melba toast and pretzels in a large bowl; stir to mix. In a glass measuring cup or small bowl, stir together melted margarine or butter, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and ground red pepper. Drizzle over cereal mixture. Toss to coat.

Spread cereal mixture in a 15 × 10 × 1-inch (or a 13 × 9 × 2-inch) baking pan. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven about 25 minutes, stirring every 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from oven; stir in dried cherries.

Pour onto aluminum foil to cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container for up to 1 week. Serving size: 1/2 cup.
 
OH MY Goodness Crunchy Cherry sounds too Good!!! I never even thought to put a dry fruit into it! Wow thanks for sharing!!! I bet this would make some nice gifts to give!
