We've already got a couple of inches :D

Here's our driveway

Rick the one thing that MamaM's got that we aint' got is snow plows to clear the roads!:D Our town just shuts down and that is always fun, fun, fun!!! Sleeting here, no snow yet:( I want snow and lots of it:)

I much prefer the 'warm snow' that we get here in Southern California, even though its runny. Those that like the cold version can drive an hour or two into the mountains and get several feet of it.

Is there a road somewhere buried in that picture?

We may get up to 7 inches by tomorrow if the forecast is right. That will cripple this place for sure. We have no plows, and very limited salting and sanding equipment. You can't drive anywhere without going over mountains and valleys. People drive nutty around here as it is. Maybe I should start an auto body shop

LMAO! Between Cathy's no snow plows and Rick's 7 inches of snow - OMG - I guess I am living in Antarctica or something.

The guys up here with large SUV's, pickups, etc. make a ton of money plowing! And these men get no rest! I've even seen them hook up plows to riding lawn mowers and
ATV's!

Many own snowmobiles and that is what they use for emergency situations, taking pregnant women to the hospital when in labor (how do you think good friend of mine got to the hospital just before her water broke), delivering oxygen or foods, and getting doctors, nurses, and police to work! The ambulances and firetrucks can't get through and the mercy flight helicopters are grounded.

When it's super bad - those snowmobilers are lifesavers! And they are just normal everyday people from snowmobiler clubs.

Georgia is not "down here". It's "up there". :D That's what we say in Louisiana anyway. Nice pic Rick. Now start shoveling or are you like me and wouldn't have a snow shovel within 100 miles.

LOL , I've got shovels I can use, but it's been raining all night and we didn't get what was in the forecast.......................Big surprise there.

don't you just love todays meteorologists?
today with all the fancy doppler crap a they still can't get it right -
I learned from the old men in the family - you can tell the weather - you can feel the weather - you can smell the weather - before it gets here - you don't need any fancy gizmos - those guys were rght on the button too

John do you remember the Christmas Day snow we had in December 2004 down in lower Alabama? I was living there at the time & it was the first time it had snowed down in Mobile, Alabama area in 100 years! Did you get that too in your neck of the woods that year? And you ae right Georgia is up there from where you live:D

well - it's snowing - but what is new anyway here?

a day without snow or a blizzard would be totally unnatural..............

Cathy - Actually we've had several in north Louisiana. About 20 yrs ago we had a snow and it didn't get above freezing for 7 days. Cane River (Its damned now so it's Cane River Lake) froze over.

We got about six inches of snow Saturday. The weather man said it would be two inches lol. The county bulldozer woke us up Sat morning at 6:30 cleaning off the parking lot. Our landlord must do someones taxes for free to get that done everytime it snows. I noticed they do this lot and the post office but leave out many other places.
It got up to 38 Sunday so much of the snow melted the next day.

janie- I'd been wondering if you guys got snowed-under... sounds like you did!

We, on the other hand, were told to expect 4-6 more inches- yet it bypassed us entirely! Although our mercury fell to below zero for 2 weeks, we're now up to 25-30 and much less snow so far this time of year than usual for us.

Supposed to start more sleet, snow and freezing rain tomorrow night. I hope it stays warm enough to keep it from doing much.

3-5 inches for tonight and two more for tomorrow. Im thinking my sister is gonna have to put off her birthday outing to dinner. They live way up a country road out in the middle of no where.

So far here in central Illinois we've gotten about 3" on top of the 8-10 we've had for several days. Now it's blowing and drifting out. I drove to work tonight at 11:00PM and it's a mess even in town. I feel sorry for the 2nd shifters I'm going-in to relieve who have to drive to homes out in the country- gonna be a real mess for them!

We were expecting anohter 8"-10" but so far we've only gotten 3". They say the bulk of it is falling much further south- so be careful south-of-the-border there in KY, Janie! :)
