...SIMPLEST food pleasure?

I have a few: a garden tomato & a salt shaker... a warm boiled egg w/ black pepper... a brick of cream cheese and a sleeve of saltines... peanut butter on rye toast... or (this one's slightly more complicated!) pan-fried smoked sausage on toast w/ grape jelly.

my "Mediterranean Lunch" - chunks of Italian cheeses with olives and pepperoncini - pepperoncini stuffed with cream cheese, cream cheese and bagels, or a pan of homemade sauce and a loaf of homemade bread for soppin'!

Okey Dokey - Fresh yeast bread straight from the oven and some melted butter. In my case that's "I can't believe it's not butter".

Like Kev a tomato right from the garden with salt. Snapple diet peach tea & pringles salt and vinegar chips are a favorite for me.

pringles?? I have to ask you - have you noticed a change in the taste of them? I don't like them anymore - but I still love Munchos! and Wise potato chips.

Fresh, hot bread with butter, unsalted potato chips, a bowl of gravy and some crusty bread.

Have you ever taken leftover salad that has a vinaigrette dressing (oil, vinegar or lemon) and tossed in a skillet and fried it? Serve with a chunk of crusty bread - it's great!

Tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil, garlic, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper on toasted bread. I can eat that for breakfast in the summer.

Had not noticed a change in taste Mama but Im not a good one to ask. My father in law uses coal and wood for heat which keeps my allergies messed up constantly. I cannot taste very well most of the time which is why Im always asking Jon to taste the food for seasoning.

Left over biscuits, split buttered and toasted. Covered in real cane syrup, pan sausage on the side. Big glass of very cold milk.
Fresh biscuits with white cream gravy. Heavy on the black pepper. CF:)

Janie - sorry to hear that! I know many smokers lose taste in their taste buds -

Rick - let me know if you try it and you can also place in on top of a sammie making a nice warm hoagie/sub -

Good point is you can get it back. I used to hate the little blue-haired ladies who could smell smoke on you from a hundred yards since I smoked for years until a heart attack in 2003. Then about a year after I was tallking to a friend who was the head of our local Chamber of Commerce and I thought "I didn't know Doug smoked" then it dawned on me - "I'm just like the little blue-haired ladies. Sense of smell and taste are way better now.

I have never been a smoker. I just have bad allergies/asthma and cig smoke is one of my worst ones. Everytime I get around something that sets off my allergies it causes inflamation in my nasal passages and everything to get congested. It inflames my throat and the nasal stuff will set off asthma every single time. When ever it is really at it I cannot taste well at all.
Jon's Daddy burns coal and wood for heat and it keeps me stuffed up for days everytime I go there. Im still paying for playing with his Mom's cat a few days ago. Big old fat cat and I know everytime I play with him Im gonna pay for it but he is just so dang cute!
