when it gets this hot. I usally grill most everything. LOL! But the crock pot is a good alternative. I will have to try to keep that in mind. As for tonight we are having Grilled marinated Flank Steak, corn on the cob and leftover scallopped potatoes.
I love my crockpots! My biggest problem cooking was that I couldn't cook meat properly. It was always dry and overdone. My first success with meat was a roast in the crockpot and I've been hooked ever since.
I also love that I can make an entire meal ahead of time in the crocks so that I'm free to enjoy the people I'm feeding that night. I usually brown a couple of roasts with onions and then put each one in a crockpot, along with carrots and potatoes, Worcestershire sauce and red wine. I usually use crockpot liners because they make clean up non-existent. If I'm having company, later I will make 2 batches of dough in the breadmakers and make bread sticks. I usually serve a dish of ice cream or a bowl of fresh fruit for dessert. Even though it's not a fancy meal, people always want to come here for dinner because there's lots of it and it's comfort food for almost everyone.

Hi TCINSA,
I am wondering about a crockpot liner that you mentioned, I have never heard of them before. Where can I purchase them?
Thanks, Cathy

Cathy, check the section where they sell the foils, cling film, and zipper bags. Most major supermarkets now carry them.
