I walk every morning for my health. Unfortunently my sons Weimaraner thinks she must accompany me on these walks. She weighs about 75 Lbs and about 1/2 mile down the road is a small weiner dog who has fallen in love with her (she's been fixed - he doesn't care). Get a ruler and do the math. On his best day this is not going to happen but he tries every time. I'ts getting embarrassing. Good luck with Spike. Once they get it on their mind there is no changing them.
it's better than my friends dog humping anyone's leg he can get at.........and he ain't choosy either - even strangers - he sees a leg and goes for it -
I quess they look at everything at body temperature as a potential sex partner. I really don't think gender matters either. When harmones kick in physics sort of goes by the wayside.
Spike has calmed down some. When I catch him trying to jump on the dog I tap him on the nose and tell him no. If he is really insistent then he gets put back in his cage.
It is part hormones I'm sure and part Spike trying to "ass - ert" dominance over the dog.
