My very FAV #1 go-to dessert cookbook of all time is Lee Bailey's "Country Desserts".
I've kept a copy in every commercial kitchen I've ever worked in and I've given it to several dear friends over the years. It's loaded w/ traditional and not-so-traditional recipes for wonderful sweets-from rustic and primitive, to fancy and gussied-up.
Plus what helps make it near and dear to me are the stunning photographs. Anyone looking for the perfect American dessert cookbook cannot go wrong w/ this book- AND there happen to be a dozen or more used copies available right now at Amazon for under a measley BUCK!

There ya go- don't say I didn't get'cha a Christmas present! Hee-Hee!
Now... here's a foo-foo platter of holiday sweets to pass around. I'm taking a cube of peanut-butter fudge... OH- and a pecan sandie! And maybe just a smidgen of that cinnamony mincemeat bar... Here ya go- take one or two and pass it 'round! Enjoy all! smiles & winks- Kevin
