Using the Character Map program on your computer is the easiest way, but perhaps Cathy is doing it my (other) way from the old computer school.

I love doing € (Euro), ™, ¢, ©, ®, ° (deg), ¶, ¼, ½, ¾, ², ³, é and many others. :)
