I made this this afternoon, my first time making bread.
I had no clue how to knead bread and Mrs W saved my
behind by giving me a quick lesson as I finished up. I
aso neglected to baste the loaf with buttermilk but it didn't
seem to hurt. I look forward to doing this again soon.

Johnny, you bread is looking good, much better than mine did. Irish soda was the first bread I ever tried to bake. It was just a big lump of dough "Baked", even the dogs would not eat. It really turned me off baking for quite some time. But now with inspiration from this forum I am at it again. Thanks for all the post. CF:)

I know -if she hadn't schooled me, it would have
been a disaster. It was so wet and had to add a
lot more flour. Making the oat flour was something
new and may try it for pancakes. I got a tweet from
Jennie saying she was adding extra goodies, as well.

It's amazing what dogs eat when you add a little bacon
grease. :D

I'm saddened to say that Jennie's husband passed away of a
heart attack a couple of weeks ago. So young.... think
of Jennie and her two young daughter's in your prayers if
you are so inclined.
