One Wish

I feel like my back is against a wall with this - and I cannot control it - and it seems that no one cares.

No one stays anymore - no one comes on like they used to.

I don't know what to do -

I have a lot tO post - but what good is it - eventaully it all gets closed due to spammers - what good does that do for the site?

There are many contributing factors. Honestly- my heart partly sank over a year ago at the trouble w/ LEADER Matt or Mark or whatever his dumb name is. He failed and disappointed us (me, anyway...). Period. Since then I've never taken part like I did prior to him showing his azz to us all. There- I said it.

That said- I still care a great deal for many friends I have made here. I still enjoy sharing w/ you all and I still enjoy welcoming new folks. But for me, it's kinda like a faltering marriage where one of the partners cheats- apologize and make nice all ya want- but it's just never quite the same.

Lastly, we need to remember this seems to be the time of year where folks easily get side-tracked and don't play online as much as other times of the year. I am a member at several various sites and all of them suffer participation issues this time of year. Between having kids home for summer vacation, gardening/canning, and it being too danged hot to do much at all, it seems many web destinations see a slow down in the dawg days of summer.

Mama- you're great. Only thing I can say is take a deep breath and try not to take it to heart. Everyone here is wonderful. I value the whole gang. And I'm glad we've been able to build what we have here- in spite of the occasional road-blocks and random set-backs.

Now my azz is gonna see if it's too hot to sit out on the patio in the shade for a bit w/ a mango smoothie- or if I hafta park-it on the couch in front of the TV! :) Have a great Sunday my friends- and try to stay cool!

I remember that - it's not easy having a site and allowing members to post to it - and then of course - there is the scum spammers that really can ruin a good thing.

If only Admin would make a few small changes - the spammers wouldn't be able to post at all - and the few that get through would be so little that it would be so easy to manage.

This site has a great team - a great family - newbies are welcomed - and they don't stay because of the spammers. Who wants to see their posts closed due to spammers? I hate doing that. But I am trying to stop them from posting so many.

I would spend countless hours - banning them as they joined so that they would not post. That took a lot of time - and for what - the more I banned - the more that joined.

I miss our family of cooks sharing everything - I really do.
