Rick is really falling down on the job!

One of my first forums every morning has been "What's for dinner" to see what Rick was cooking, complete with pictures, and that gave me my inspiration for the day. Rick, you must be taking the day off lately.
 
maybe he is preparing a FEAST and he is surprising us all!!!

but then again - he's buried under 7 inches of snow - LMAO
(we get that in an hour)

7 inches of snow here is like a blizzard where you live Mama! I am watching the local news this AM and heard there are electric poles that have snapped and many are without electricity up that way. The ice is a real problem! They are asking people not to do any sight seeing up in those mountains as there is the very real possibility of slidding off the road and going off the sde of the mountain. We did not have it bad here, but just North of us (where Rick lives)they got slammed. There were 50,000 without power at one point, now it is down to only 5,000 acording to the local news reports. This icy weather is Only a quick pass-by, it is supposed to warm up and thaw out soon. That is the great saving grace about our weather here, it gets cold, then warms up in a few days and you get a break from the cold.

I am sure Janie got hit really hard in her neck of the woods as well! I hope all our members are safe & sound and I will rest easier when I hear from them!
 
I hope he and his clan didn't get snowed in. All them kids, whew, could be like the Donner party. Being trapped in the home and running outta food.
 
Sorry guys, I guess I've been letting things get to me lately. Sometimes I hate myself, but I let my situation dictate my moods. I haven't had any work since Thanksgiving, and we've been struggling financially. I feel guilty just mentioning that because I know there are people worse of if that's even possible. We are a one income family. I'm self employed so if I get no calls, I get no work. I guess there isn't much demand for cabinetry and woodwork when the economy is in the toilet. This is the reason I got into the BBQ spice business. I'm hoping it will grow someday into something big enough to support us, but I'm not there yet. At my age I've only got two things I can use to make a living Woodworking and my love for cooking.

On a lighter note, we've still been eating and I'll try to get a bit more motivated in posting.

We sure could use some prayers right now for those who are inclined

Don't worry IC, thankfully most are out living on their own these days. Although it looks like our daughter, son in law and new granddaughter is moving in with us next month :eek:
 
times are rough for many - I know that all to well - we need to think positive each and every day - we need to thank God daily for all we have (even though it is hard at times) and we need to be happy and GRATEFUL for all that we have and regarding all that we want and need -
they say you should give thanks for all that you need by seeing that you already have it - give it a try - it's from all that positive thinking stuff that is going around

of course - prayers are being sent your way for you and your entire family - may only the best come your way

keep all thoughts of lack away by reversing the thought immediately to a positive one - it will work

Sorry Rick. Didn't mean to have a little fun at your expense. I was self employed all my life and I know what you mean. My photo studio was still going strong until my Dr said shut it down, you can't take the stress. I saw my main competition about a year ago and he said "don't feel bad, business sucks in this recession". I will be praying for you.
