I will try that. We all love dark chocolate.

My video camera is charging. I put new batteries in my digital camera. I have the dinner prepped that my sister wanted. Turnip greens, cornbread, roasted taters and roasted chicken. I made her a batch of buckeye brownies to take home with her.
It is so funny the way my brother and sister crave that sort of food.

I have french vanilla hot chocolate to take in my thermos along with bananas and two different kinds of cookies. I put fresh batteries in my flashlight. They are supposed to be here about 4pm Thursday. That will give them time to eat supper before they start getting ready for trick or treat which starts at 5:30. I borrowed a radio flyer wagon to pull the 2 year old in if she gets to tired of walking. Once they finish trick or treating Im gonna stop by and get some pizzas for them to have before they go home. I got them the new Tinkerbell DVD as a suprise.

What a lot of sweets in the buckets, if I had those when I was a child I would have fainted with excitement.:D

I too am looking forward to Halloween. I make up small bags with spooky themes printed on them. I make the bags up myself, on the old Canon printer.

There is usually a bar of chocolate and a bag of sweets plus a few lines on why we celebrate Halloween, I think it is important that the kids realise it is just not a made up sweetie-fest.

I have also made bags for the local bobbies that will be on the beat that evening.

I'll be dressing up to answer the door. I hope it will be a good community builder.

I didnt take as many pics as I would have because my back was really bothering me. I was carrying my video camera, digital camera, thermos, cookies, bananas, hand sanitizer, flashlight all in my bag. My back started bugging me last night and just got worse. I did get some cute video of them.
I told my husband with the cameras I took along I should have made myself up as a paparazzi.
Since she was a scary cheerleader she would only do her angry cheerleader thing for pics  She has makeup on to make under her eyes look dark.

By the time she had eaten and drank hot chocolate while trick or treating her lipstick was a wreck lol. This is her trying to look scary but I was to excited to eat my dinner so now my blood sugar is dropping face.

They took their candy buckets home with them. I figured they would go after the chocolate first thing. Not so ..the youngest loved the gummy life savers and the older one loved the skull suckers. My FIL gave out little bags full of mini candy bars, suckers and little Debbie Cakes. They really loved that. We went to my FIL's and had pizza and pop then they came back by here to get the food I had fixed their Mama and their candy. I even gave them the extra candy I had for trick or treaters. When we got back here to the apartment they were both asleep in the back seat of their van. They woke up a little when I kissed them on the forehead and told them I loved them and thanks for coming to go trick or treat with me.

A friend of my hubby's came by with his one year old son. I had my oldest niece give him three handfulls of candy in his trick or treat bag and then I assumed they were leaving. He stayed for like an hour. I wouldnt mind but he does not watch his little boy at all. So he sits in my computer chair and puts the little boy on the floor to roam. So here I am trying to fix my sister and my nieces some dinner. It is after 4 and trick or treat starts at 5:30. Im trying to feed them and meanwhile he is letting his little boy grab things off my desk ..like my video camera I just happened to catch  He was hungry so I made him a plate when I made everyone elses which I never mind to do but man was it bad timing. I had been planning this evening with my sister for weeks. So Im trying to keep his child from pulling off the monitor to the pc I hooked for my nieces. Im also trying to keep his little boy out of the buckets of candy I had made for my kids. Then he asks me to watch his little boy while he eats his dinner while Im trying to get my girls into their costumes. Between trying to feed everyone and get them into costume and watch his friends little boy I was a nervous wreck. He even gave his little boy nerd candy which he dumped out all over the livingroom. Then he mentions he was just at his Moms whom they think has swine flu. The carpet was so covered up in candy I had to come back here and vacum before I brought Jon back. When I got to my FIL's for pizza he was there with the little boy letting him roam loose between the dining room, kitchen and livingroom. We went into the diningroom to have pizza and the little guy was crawling back and forth while Dad was in the livingroom.
He and Jon are going to end up having words over him bringing the baby around if he isnt going to watch him better. When you take kids to someones home you should be the one who watches them. That would have been like me taking my nieces to my FIL's and expecting him to be the one who kept an eye on them.
