Jafo I've just got to update you on the garden....I now have squash blooms, little baby green tomatoes on the vine, and our 2nd crop of spinach is coming up, and sugar snaps too! I just love it! Pretty soon the green beans are going to be blooming. And my compost worms have gone crazy I turned some soil this weekend and you should have seen all them trying to get away!

How is the home purchase going? It is sometimes a slow agonizing process, but once you're in there you'll know it was worth it.

Had a scare last night.. There were frost warnings everywhere just a few miles North of us. First thing I did this morning when I woke up was go outside and see if there was any. Got lucky. Could sure use some of that global warming here right now. I cannot believe how cold it got.

I have a bunch of tomatoes planted but it will be a while before I even see a blossom on them. Peas are starting to come up, but that is about it for the seeds. It has been so cool here lately I hope I don't have to reseed the corn.

Yeah Global Warming! What a joke, I might get booed and hissed at but if it's so terrible why are we having such cold snaps still?

I am glad your garden was spared! I just would faint if something went awry with my garden at this point. I have so babied it and lovingly watched over everything, it is amazing how we get attached:o.

You know Jafo we moved in March to this new place and lo and behold we found we have a nice pear tree (bartlet) out back and it is loaded, and just Sunday my granddaughter discovered (much to my delight) a mulberry tree!!!! It is not loaded but enough fruit on it to get a few pickings! I am beside myself, I keep thinking gosh I hope these people will sell this house to us!!! I have this terrific compost pile going, nice chicken coupe, little creek for easy watering of the garden! It's just so neat!

That is great, there really isn't anything like fresh fruit in the backyard! When I was a kid, we always had raspberries, black berries, and choke cherries.

Our mortgage was preliminarily accepted so we should know more by the end of this week or the beginning of next. Once we get a definitive answer, I will post the pics of the new place. I am trying to not get my hopes up. With the housing market the way it is, you just never know. One day it seems like the banks are dying to loan it out, not so much the next day..

I will say this, there an old canal right in the back yard (behind a tree line) that the state mandates that it always remains full because it feeds other canals in the area. One of the first things I thought of when I saw that was how I was going to run a hose to it for watering the garden. :)
