Thanks to mama.... When I called and called and called and called repeatedly telling them that I refuse to pay this kind of bill and that I would call the TV stations and write to congress and splatter their name on all my blogs they finally told me that My next Electric bill is going to be 00000000 dollars and the following bill is also 00000!!!! :) ANNNND they are no longer going to be charging me for 2 meters ! And to think I was going to just cough it up and keep paying crazy prices .

I guess I can now take off my hoody and crank up the heat some because 63 degrees in the house just ain`t cutting it for the kids .

P.S. You know those expensive bulbs they sell to save energy ??? wellll they are worth every penny ! I can`t afford to buy all new ones in one shot but little by little I want all the lights in the house changed ., You be surprised at how much you can save.

now that you've got them - call back and tell them that you have been grossly overcharged since you move in and giving you 2 months free is not much and that since you have 2 meters on your home - you want only one and they better come out and change that - and if they say anything - tell them - I am not threatening you in any way - I am forewarning you of what I am going to do -
and remind them that the stress and aggrevation is effecting your health and are they going to pay the medical bills

If I can remember my Business Law from 100 years ago there is a thing called "Implied Warrent" meaning unless otherwise stated, such as the term "as is" placed in the sales contract, certain things are implied. I know a roof is implied, in that if they do not state that it leaks up front it is an implied warrenty. I will bet that a preexisting agreement with the Utility Co. and the previous owner should fall under that clause too.
