I tell everyone to get a thermometer for their oven and also for their refrigerator and for their freezer! Even if it is brand new! That is the only way to tell if you are baking/roasting at the proper temp and it also ensures the proper temp for your freezers and fridges - then you never have to worry about bacteria setting in!

I agree with getting a thermometer to keep in the oven.
