I don't think you can replace salt. I think the best thing you do is a have a salt free diet. My mom did it when my grandma is having kidney problems, the whole family strictly followed the diet and if we want our foods to be a bit seasoned we just use some herbs and spices, just not the salt.

My husband also found out a couple of months ago about his blood pressure. We tried salt substitutes. The medicine he is on said that wasn't safe, so I found Lite Salt by our rain lady Morton. It is 1/2 the sodium of table salt. He said it isn't to bad for a salt lover. I found it next to regular salt in my grocery store.

some othere things to try are seaweed flakes and citrus juices. Citrus is great for bringing out the flavor of food which is the same thing salt does. I love a squirt of lemon or lime over almost everything.
