Fantastic story, Cathy!
Doris would be fun to see... (I just re-watched 'Pillow Talk' w/ my Mom the other night!)
I've seen some stars from a distance (rarely up CLOSE) at some of my work locations, but never in a public situation say- at the market, or on the street...
I'm like you, not really a star-struck type person at all... some goof-balls make me crazy with their fall-to-their-knees "can you sign my naked bicep?"-attitudes! So funny...
I mentioned this once before but at a resort I worked at where celebs mosied thru now and then, we received a bit of "star-training" during newhire orientation and one of the things stressed to us as staff was never call a star by their perceived name... 'cause in many cases, the name you know them by is nothing more than a stage-name... and in some cases, if you're serving them- especially for the duration of a long stay, or will be working with them at all in some capacity, they just might reveal to you their real name- which they just might prefer that you call them- or they might offer a nickname or pet-name for you to use in your dealings with them...
Anyway... yeah, Cath- Doris woulda been a hoot to see!
